Mission Statement
CMB Construction Group LLC is a full service commercial and residential general contractor created by Chris Matthews and Matt Burch in 2018. CMB Construction Group LLC was established to provide a turn-key amenity construction process for commercial and residential land developers. CMB also has the resources and knowledge to provide commercial and residential renovations along with the construction of new homes in Maryland.

CMB is dedicated to cultivating and maintaining long-term professional relationships with all of our clients, contractors, and suppliers. CMB has put together a team of vendors and suppliers that can deliver on any project and any situation. CMB knows that today’s customers have many different options when it comes to selecting a construction company. Christopher Matthews

Chris Matthews started his construction career as a young teenager working for his father’s construction and remodeling company in the early 90s. His humble beginnings started as a laborer taking on any task that a job site would require.
​
Once finishing college, Chris started as a project supervisor for NVR to continue his career in the building industry. His job duties included all aspects of new home construction from project management and scheduling to interaction with his customers each day. After four years as a supervisor Chris was promoted to Project Manager where he excelled at a high level leading all Project Mangers in numerous categories from Quality of Construction, Highest Customer Ratings and Number of Units Completed Each Year. Chris was able to gain residential and commercial building experience by building single- and multi-family homes and condominiums during his tenure. During his time at NVR Chris also participated in training new employees in the PTP (Production Training Program) as well as roles in the NVR service department which spanned over 14 years!

Once leaving NVR, Chris accepted a new challenge. Leading the Land Development team at Beazer Homes in all-amenity based projects. His role in the Land department was to completely “Turn Key” and design build all of Beazer homes clubhouse and pool projects . These duties included working with the HOA, civil engineer, pool company, interior designer, landscaper and building architect to generate some of the best clubhouse and pool amenity spaces developers could offer. The role of also being the project manager on site for all of these projects gave the hands on approach that these types of projects demanded.
This type of experience let Chris to Ovida Construction where he led the Maryland Division as President. His take-charge and hands-on approach in any task from sales, estimating to project management led to years of success.
Now as co-owner of CMB construction Group Chris continues to bring past successes to his own company.
Matthew Burch
​
Matt grew up on a family farm in Southern Maryland, where he worked alongside his father, grandfather, and uncle managing and maintaining their land. His father, grandfather, and uncle were each also responsible for the general contracting and construction of their homes on the property. During these years Matt worked alongside them learning what it took to build a home for his family in the future.
Matt graduated from Salisbury University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing. Following his graduation, Matt spent 10 years with The Brickman Group where he managed approximately 60 Class A commercial projects. He was also responsible for collecting, estimating, and bidding on all large scale commercial and new installation projects in his territory.

Matt moved on from Brickman to NVR in 2013 where he quickly was promoted to Construction Project Manager within 8 months of his hire date. He oversaw the new construction of 60+ houses per year. Matt was responsible for all on-site duties of construction including contractor interaction, project cost management and daily customer relations. In his first year as a full time project manager Matt was the #1 volume builder in MD, constructing and delivering 64 quality products to satisfied new home owners. Due to his industry knowledge and success, Matt’s direct supervisors would send new construction hires to him to conduct their training in the field.

In 2016 Matt joined Chris and Ovida Construction Group's Maryland team to help grow the Maryland division and expand operations. At Ovida Construction, Matt was responsible for all business development in the Mid-Atlantic division. He met with all new clients developing strong business relationships and partnerships. Matt collected all bid documents and consulted with clients on all items that still needed to be defined. He reviewed all bid documents, collected all vendor and contractor bids and was responsible for final pricing and presentation to every client personally. Matt would also be part of the process to identify, qualify, and on board any new subcontractors or vendors.

As a co-owner of the CMB Construction Group, Matt applies his strong ability to build and maintain client and contractor relationships, along with his industry knowledge and experience to provide only the best products and services to CMB Construction Group customers and clients.
